title: Think Amazon's patenting the one-click
---
Think [Amazon](http://www.amazon.com)'s patenting the one-click purchasing system was extreme? British telecommunications giant [BT](http://www.bt.com/) has just announced that [it patented](http://164.195.100.11/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1='4873662'.WKU.&OS=PN/4873662&RS=PN/4873662) the hyperlink back in 1989. In a move sure to send the BT lawyers my way, I'm hyperlinking the [the BBC story](http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid_798000/798475.stm) on the issue. Maybe another hyperlink to [the father of the internet](http://www.w3.org/People/Berners-Lee/) is in order.
