Stading with your back to the back door in the laundry, you can see straight to the front door. Though it's not a "shotgun shack", it has this feature. You can see the dining room here. It's small and intimate, and just waiting for a table so I can use it. The walls are the original tounge and groove wood, and there a nice chandelier fixture in the center.
